Merica...

This is a special story here, ya see, as I was gallivanting around the internet, I went to ESPN.com, a great site with a lot of news about sports. I like sports. I like the internet. It really seemed like a win win. Then I see this headline:

"DONTE STALLWORTH IN BALLOON ACCIDENT"

For those of you that don't know Donte Stallworth, let me teach you a little about him. He's fast, tall, gets drunk, kills people, and plays about 3 games a year in the NFL because he sucks at the sport and lives on the Free Agent list. I believe it was 2008 or 2009 (too lazy to look it up), Donte Stallworth was arrested for DUI manslaughter, at 7AM. This piece of shit spent 3 weeks in jail for this. 3 weeks. Are you fucking kidding me? Not only did he kill someone, but his weapon of choice was a car, and he was drunk. He gets 3 weeks in jail, released, and thats that. I actually know somebody in real life, who spent 180 days in jail for a DUI. At least now I know if I'm about to get pulled over and I'm drunk, all I have to do is hit and kill somebody before the cop can get to me and I get 150 days off my sentencing. Fucking joke...

Anyway this asshole was in a hot air balloon with his girlfriend and flew into powerlines, whatever. Here is the entire article on espn:

"Free-agent wide receiver Donte' Stallworth is in stable condition after being involved in a hot air balloon accident Saturday morning, a source close to the player told ESPN.
Stallworth was with his girlfriend when the balloon hit power lines, causing them both to be shocked and burned. A source told ESPN that Stallworth wasn't seriously injured.
Stallworth, 32, played in one game with the New England Patriots last season before going on injured reserve with an ankle injury.
In 2009, Stallworth served 24 days in a Miami jail for DUI manslaughter."

Incredible that ESPN pays somebody actual real money to write bullshit like that.  Great article.....
this is what is wrong with America, 24 days for killing people with cars and people getting paid to write articles about said criminals and a fucking hot air balloon. Whatever. I'm obviously doing something wrong with my life.

This song reminds me of Free Agency. Daedalus, for us football fans created many Icarus's. The feathers show they can soar to great heights. But was the wax used, easily softened by the sun. A major drowning once again of a "strong" market. Free agency in most sports to me this day and age, looks like a phone booth with money being blown around inside. Mad dash for the cash is what these modern Icarus incarnates want. Will they be worth their feathers?
